My brother, Pete, has been visiting us and meeting Booker for the first time. Today, we went to Gruene to have lunch and wander around. The only thing missing was Ed, who had to work today. Uncle Pete is here until Wednesday and I'm off from work until then so I'll post more pictures soon.

Top O' the Morning to Ya!
This golf shirt is a gift from Booker's babysitter, Sarah. We love her! The cargo shorts are just too cute. They are one of several pairs of baby pants Booker wears that appear to be tiny versions of adult clothes. They even have functioning pockets and belt loops. How funny!
On another note, Mr. Smarty Pants has figured out to spin himself around in his bouncy seat to look at the toys on all sides. He's all about anything brightly colored.

Fun for everyone!
additional Mommy note: I put this thing together this morning on the kitchen floor while making pancakes for my sleeping husband....after getting about 5 hours of sleep pasted together through the night. Gotta take advantage of those enegry bursts as they come!
Aunt Hannah bought Booker a Bounce Bounce Baby Activity Zone yesterday. Here are some photos (video to follow). He loves it! I had to prop him up with a towel so he wouldn't fall back too far but he seemed to really enjoy himself. He was particularly interested in the duck and turtle see saw. He keep leaning forward to get his face really close to it. The bottom of this seat is set on bungie cords so he can bounce. He prefers to be standing when possible so this is perfect. Hopefully this will do the trick during dinner prep and dishwasher loading.

Booker loves his Aunt Hannah...
Hannah just came back from a business trip. Booker and I went to her house so the love fest could begin. She also decided to take us on a shopping trip that included a car seat for her car, a bouncy playseat (pictured in the next post) and some clothes we couldn't resist. He had been cranky all morning (due mostly to his immunizations on Monday) but was all smiles for her! We ended our visit with a nice walk in the park.

measurement update
16 pounds 6 ounces!!!
23 inches long!!!
Even Dr. Fitch did a little happy dance! Everything looks great, including his umbillical hernia which looks like it's healing on it's own. We got the green light to start cereal which should be fun for everyone! Wiht the exception of the immunizations and the rain, we had a great day!
I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

A few new pictures...
After his morning meal, Booker gets to hang out in the big bed with Dad while Mommy eats and showers. He's always smiling and chatty at that hour...unlike both of his parents!
In the evening, he demands to be part of the action, which is usually in the kitchen. I've learned that if I prop him on the Boppy in his bassinet and roll him to where he can see me cooking or doing the dishes, he stays pretty happy. We'll have to graduate to a highchair or some other seating soon as he will be over the 15lb. weight limit for the bassinet.
Passed out! Booker usually prefers to be swaddled for sleep (and sleeps longer when he is) but this nap had a good grip on him so I didn't bother.
Not much else doin' at Casa Cherry these days. Work is busy but good for both Ed and I. Booker hasn't really decided whether he sleeps through the night yet...but is making his best effort. We're looking forward to our 4 month check-up on Monday so we can see what this chunky monkey weighs!

I love my sister.
- She's a wonderful companion and friend. We haven't always gotten along but I am truly enjoying our friendship as adults.
- She always there...always. She came over yesterday to help me jump my car, take it to the shop for a new battery and then take me to work. And then went back to work herself.
- She has been helping Ed and I organize our financial stuff. And she's done our taxes for the past 2 years. And she always helps me muddle through communications from the IRS and my health insurance. And she's always been uber-generous when we have needed a hand.
- She loves my son almost more than I do. In fact, she's babysitting today. And she brought him a whole bag of clothes from her trip to Las Vegas (along with gifts for everyone else she knows). She was in the room when he was born even though it was scary and weird.
- She was "on-call" throughout my entire pregnancy and came running whenever I called. She cleaned my house, made me lunch and hooked up her DVD player in my bedroom when I was on bed rest. She filled my refrigerator with food after I came home from the hospital and was there to lean on while Booker stayed in the NICU even though she couldn't go in.
I hope I never have to figure out how to get through my days without her.
